A primary focus of C.teach is evaluation of programs that counter the impact of complex trauma on individuals, families, systems, and communities. C.teach faculty and staff conduct evaluation to:
- Foster long-term success in early learning and K–12 education, primary health care, and other natural systems,
- Build understanding of the lasting effects of traumatic childhood experiences.

This project focused on the deliverance of the trauma-informed schools’ intervention, Collaborative Learning for Educational Achievement and Resilience (CLEAR), in four demonstration schools distributed between Washington State and Oregon in the service area supported by Kaiser-Permanente Northwest.

In the 2017-18 school year, Juneau Schools in cooperation with the Juneau Community Foundation, The Alaska Children’s Trust, and the Alaska Mental Health Board supported the launch of the three-year long CLEAR program in three Juneau elementary schools: Glacier Valley, Harborview, and Riverbend.
