Edible & Sustainable Landscaping Workshop
You want your garden to be beautiful and productive at the same time. In this workshop, we’ll discuss ways to integrate edibles into a showy landscape, and how to grow and maintain that landscape in an environmentally friendly way. No registration required. Terry Maczuga has worked for Cloud Mountain Farm Center for 20 years. An avid gardener, she and her husband grow much of their own food in addition to tending a exceptional ornamental garden.

City Fruit – Save Seattle’s Apples: Orchard Pest Prevention
Join City Fruit in a series of work party events to Save Seattle’s Apples (See also May 16, May 17 and May 30). This spring campaign is meant to engage the community and promote awareness of the urban fruit trees, prevent common pests from spreading to nearby trees, keeping nutritious food from going to waste, and helping to preserve the biological diversity of fruit trees in Seattle. Join City Fruit at the Good Shepherd Center orchard in Wallingford for a free apple pest prevention class sponsored by the City People’s garden store. We will go over the life cycle of Seattle’s most pervasive fruit tree pests and get some hands-on experience protecting the apple trees in the Good Shepherd Center orchard, which are found within and around the south parking lot. Register with the City People’s garden store to attend this free off-site class.
