City Fruit – Grafting Fruit Trees Workshop
March 21, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
freeGrafting is a technique used to cultivate your favorite fruit variety on an existing rooted tree or a disease resistant rootstock. Recently, this has become a popular way to grow multiple varieties of fruit on one tree. Patrick Mann, one of City Fruit’s Master Fruit Tree Stewards, has been experimenting with grafting for years on his own trees and the Brandon Triangle Orchard. He has some tips and tricks that makes it easy and accessible for anyone to try! This hands-on workshop is meant to teach the home gardener about grafting and how to increase your chances of success. Then help City Fruit graft some of their favorites onto their orchard trees on the Burke Gilman Trail.
