City People’s Garden Store Workshop: Growing Specialty Fruits

Learn which varieties are best, the basics of growing these fruits and how to harvest and use them. Instructor Tracey Bernal is a professional gardener and former pastry chef, and she comes from a family of gardeners and fruit lovers. A member of Seattle Tree Fruit Society and lifelong resident of the Puget Sound area, she knows that nothing compares to the flavor of fruit just picked from your own backyard. She grows, harvests, preserves, and consumes pears, apples, figs, Asian pears, berries, and many unusual fruits in an over-planted garden south of West Seattle.
