Hands On Pruning Workshop/ Orchard Work

Bring your loppers, hand pruners, saws and safety glasses to this 1-day workshop that will not only give class room instruction, but also hands-on experience in the orchard to help you make good pruning choices.Gary Moulton, Pomologist and Orchardist will instruct students on the science, principles and practices of pruning in the classroom.  Gary will follow-up with a field demonstration explaining his approach to pruning.  Students will then work in small teams in the orchard and prune trees.  Each student/group will then explain their finished product and why they made specific cuts. Group discussion will follow.

Students should bring: loppers, hand pruners, saws and safety glasses.
