Organic Hard Apple Cider and Vinegar Production

220 Pocket Lane, Port Townsend, WA 98368. Part of the 2014 Farm Walk Educational Series put on by Tilth Producers of Washington & WSU Small Farms Program. Owned and operated by Steve and Nancy Bishop, Alpenfire Orchards produces hard apple cider and vinegar using cider fruit from their certified organic orchard and from locally grown organic apples. Please attend for a cider and vinegar making tour that covers the whole operation from the branch to the bottle. Also hear how the Bishops utilized a USDA Value-Added Producer grant to increase their production capabilities to the point of self-sufficiency. Sign in 11:45am – 12:30pm. Join the participants with your own lunch during this time for informal networking.
