Secretary report

- Some money come in Pressure Canner Gauge $10
- Teen Money came in
- Judges Training Registration Money came in, we have covered the cost of the building $125.
- Fred Meyer Rewards -> Goes quarterly to the Association
- please make sure if you haven’t already signed up please make sure to go in and do that
Staff report (both Aspen and Alyssa are at a conference- Nancy??)
- Money From Tractor Supply goes to Leadership -> camps, teen conferences
- Coastal -> There is a list, cant use it for travel, Nancy would have to go back and see what was there
- For Fair Still Life it is extended to July 3rd so that kids can have time to
- June 1st is when the animals,
- Teen Conference let Nancy know
- Located at WSU Date: June 22-25, 2026
- Location: WSU Pullman Campus
- Ages: High School students who have completed 8th grade through 12th grade
- Registration – open May 8th – 31st
- Cost to Attend:
- Youth $295
- Volunteers – no cost
- 4-H Conference Youth Facilitator $195
- Teens can apply for a Grant or Scholarships
- Need Chaperone and Transportation -> Youth stay in dorms
Old business
-scholarship committee met and awarded scholarships
- Split the funds for each recipient to receive $600
- Sophia -> Whitworth University, we will mail the check to her,
- Nikolia -> Robotics 4-H Skunkworks -> going to Oregon State for Mechanical Engineering -> Seattle Christian Schools -> Susan will follow up
- Teagan -> Tahoma High School -> Colorado State University -> Biology Degree -> Melynda will take the check -> also did the State 4H Scholarship
- Scholarship Applicants we would like for them to send Picture

- Similar to other scholarships
- Questions and Application were very straightforward
-Following up regarding outstanding checks-
- 5 Clubs who did not cash checks and they have not cashed $1,072.50 from cookshack from last Summer. The deadline was April 15th to cash the checks and they still have not been signed.
- The money will go into Fair Support
- Sign-Up Genius are you donating it to a club, future expenses,
- 90 days to cash it out
– Agriventure event at the Expo Center. Staffing a booth.
- Melynda and her two older kids will be working 4-H at dinner, sell raffle tickets, 4:45pm on Tuesday (Pulled Pork & Homemade Macaroni)
- During the day they have enough volunteers
- All of the money raised goes to the Premium Points to the Fair
By-laws- tabled to summer but to be finished before start of new 4-H year 2026-2027
- We will be doing these in August
- Notification 10 days prior to October meeting
- Will be doing the voting at the kickoff Meeting
- Need to get a committee set
Grants and fundraising
- This is tabled for right now Susan will continue working on it
Cook shack update? Fridge progress? Was there a decision regarding the hotdog roller/cooker (to separate them from the grill)
Jim- progress on tool sharpening event?
- 15 solicitation letters have been sent out
- Rent a Center $20 a week to rent a few fridges during fair
- Is the Cook Shack’s longevity going to be viable with Floy, Jim, and Anita have been pretty much solely running it
- Do we want to spend $2k on a fridge if we are not going to be running
- Renee has asked for them to do more events but that is not the job of Volunteers as we are Youth Development
- If we have more kids to do Entrepreneurship than this might be something that they can do
- Sign-Up Genius is going to be coming up
- Lets go ahead and table the hot dog roller
- Tool Sharpening Jim was unable to get a location and not really much feedback
House & Hazel do good Wednesdays
- Has not heard from them so we will go ahead and table that
- They were hoping to have kids come and do
- Terrarium making event for 4-H members (ticketed event) so they can enter them at fair. (I have not had any additional info about this so table for next year).
New business
Fall 4-H event to promote clubs end of September (after state fair)
- Clubs come and set-up booths , tabling event
- At the Fairgrounds
- Potentially make it free or super cheap at the Expo Center. Melynda has already been in contact with Expo
- In August or 1st week of October
- Can have petting tables, have the kids do the demonstration
- Would like to do a Seattle area event
- We can do a 4-H Club/Project thing here at the Office
Judging posters & Education display- need volunteers

- June 2nd (attach the items on the posters) 6:30pm -8:30pm
- Seniors are allowed to come in and attach items
