Minutes from the last meeting sent out in email- any discussion/ changes needed? 

Secretary report -currently don’t have one 

Treasurer report-Floy

  • Not much activity at all this last month 
  • 2025-2026 Budget & Actual was printed off
    • Ask that the minutes show the balances of the meeting time 
    • A letter was sent to the King-Pierce Farm Bureau asking for funding- We were denied 
    • We need to work on making our finances more clear for those who may want to review it. 
    • Requested there be a printed treasurers report with further detail. 
    • The budget may need to be broken down in more detail. We currently have multiple line items that are for different clubs and categories. 
    • We need to reevaluate how we present our finances.
    • $43,000 is not all of the Association money;
      • Unbudgeted Funds of $14,000 is normal to carry over for the year 
      • $15,600 is what the Association is budgeted 
      • Projects have a large amount of money in it 
    • Judges training income $144.35
      • Family Living 
    • Expenses $1,324 in ribbons 
    • Post Secondary Scholarship  $1800 
    • $1200 outstanding checks from scholarships that have not been cashed from the ones that were just issues last month .
      • $600 each 
    • 4-H Fair Support -> no expenses yet for Judges, last year overall for judges was $1600 -> currently there is $3,045.00 left in the budget
      • Spent money for ribbons 
      • Postage for fair checks 
      • ~ $400 for Rosettes 
      • Superintendents can get $50 + judges fees 
      • In the past we have paid for Fair Entry $750 for Fair Entry. Nancy believes that Alyssa paid for it but not sure where 
      • In the past photo stands have been paid for (infrastructure that needs to be changed out)
      • $120-$150 
    • Statment that the organization is mismanaging funds and that there needs to be a better way to budget. Is stating that this is very fishy.
      • President mentioned that feedback is welcome and would like to come up with better record keeping.

Staff Report 

  • August 4th to 8th in the office 9-12 age group Becoming a scientist theme. 
  • $50 and will offer fee waivers as well
  • Kickoff Meeting October 8th at Meridian Grange

Old business

Agriventure Event: Dinner with the Farmer 

  • Melinda and her kids were there, it was in the back corner and no one really went into the back corner. 
  • Renee had too many volunteers so 4-H wasn’t really needed 
  • 2 different 4-H Booths 
  • There was a STEM club as well 
  • 4-H members were not even thanked 

4th & 5th Graders 

  • The stations were amazing had kids from all over Enumclaw School District, Private School

By-laws- tabled to summer but to be finished before start of new 4-H year 2026-2027

  • We will be doing these in August and be presented 
  • Notification 10 days prior to October meeting 
  • Will be doing the voting at the kickoff Meeting 
  • Need to get a committee set 
  • The main issue was voting and changing some things in the Constitution and By-Laws and seeing what needs to be at the Constitution and the By-Law Money 

Grants and fundraising

  • This is tabled for right now Susan will continue working on it 

New Business

Cook shack update

  • Got a domestic refrigerator and will make it work 
  • Potentially add a lock to the refrigerator 
  • Need to take inventory of all the items that belong to 4-H in 
  • Hot Dog Roller? -> should we eventually get one that would be available. Floy mentioned that this 

House & Hazel do good Wednesdays

  • Do Good Wednesday. Have 4-H come in and do presentations and give us part of the proceeds. They want to do it later in the summer.

Fall 4-H event to promote clubs end of September (after state fair)

  • Clubs come and set-up booths , tabling event 
  • At the Fairgrounds 
  • Potentially make it free or super cheap at the Expo Center. Melynda has already been in contact with Expo 
  • In August or 1st week of October 
  • Can have petting tables, have the kids do the demonstration 
  • Would like to do a Seattle area event 
  • We can do a 4-H Club/Project thing here at the Office 
  • Used to do a Open House type event for people

Super Saturday

  • Kandi suggested classes for parents and leaders. 

Newsletter

  • We need more people to read it. Multiple sources of information to get people to hear about things.

Fair

  • Still life drop off is Saturday the 11th 9am-3pm
  • Superintendent meeting June 30th at 6pm
  • Open class is having an apple pie contest for the 250th

No meeting in July due to fair
