This is communication from the state in regard to the recent Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1) outbreak. Things you need to know…
- According to the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine, right now, there are reported cases in Colorado, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma, that all appear to be associated with attending the shows in Texas and Oklahoma.
- The state strongly encourages all involved to familiarize themselves with the symptoms of EHV-1 and the recommended preventative measures. While there is no cause for alarm at this time, this is an opportunity to act with foresight.
New Horse Educational Learning Event
Want to learn more about horse educational competitions? Come join us on Sunday, January 25th from 2-4 for a fun equine educational night! Experience booths with info on the several equine competitions, like hippology, presentations, and more, and receive tips from older 4-H members on how to study and do your best in competition! Put what you have learned to the test with a fun practice horse bowl round! Non 4-H welcome to attend to learn about the program.
