We are nearly six weeks away from the 2025 Lynden Ag Show which hosts the Washington Small Fruit Conference and the Northwest Washington Potato Conference. The show has entered its 14th year in its current format and offers educational opportunities and a trade show for the small fruit industries in the Pacific Northwest and the potato industry in Northwestern Washington. There are a number of exciting additions to this year’s showw and we look forward to seeing you there.

Washington Small Fruit Conference

Topics include:

  • Pest management
  • Impacts of extreme heat on red raspberries and mitigation techniques
  • Red raspberry and blueberry public and private breeding programs share their recent developments and releases
  • Horticulture management
  • Artifical intelligence in agriculture and the use of technology to obtain better information about your crops and potential management solutions

This year we will feauture an extended poster session that allows attendees to interact with authors.

Food Safety Training

This four-hour training starts at 8:00 am on Wednesday December 3rd and is targeted to small fruit production. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

Northwest Washington Potato Conference

Topics include:

  • Impacts of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne chitwoodi and M. hapla) on potato yield and quality in the Pacific Northwest
  • Managing soil moisture and soil physical health for potato production in northwestern Washington
  • Advances in insect and nematode control in potatoes
  • Fighting foliar foes with fungicides

WSDA WPS Worker Training (Spanish Only)

December 4th 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The handler training covers an overview of worker protection standards to help handlers use pesticides safely, legally, and effectively. New this year are real-life case scenarios that highlight exposure incidents, behaviors that contributed to the exposure, and how prevention is possible through proper label use and through the implementation of the worker protection standards. This is one of five modules needed to complete and receive WSDA’s Handler Certification.
