Volume 14 Issue 1

The Pesticide Resources and Education Program has updated their pesticide study manuals to reflect the updated federal and state Certification and Training rules that went into effect January 1, 2026.

As of today, the new Private Applicator manual is available: https://pubs.extension.wsu.edu/product/private-applicator-pesticide-education-manual/

We have four new manuals to meet the new competency requirements:

  • Weed Control
  • Demonstration and Research
  • Control de Malezas (Weed Control)
  • Leyes y Seguridad de Pesticidas en Washington (Laws and Safety)

We have revised six manuals:

  • Laws and Safety
  • Private Applicator
  • Pacific Northwest Wildlife Management
  • Wood Preservative
  • Manual para Aplicadores Privados de Pesticidas (Private Applicator)
  • Pest Management Study Manual for Pest Control Operators

Added addendums to three to come into compliance:

  • Insect and Disease
  • Soil Fumigation
  • Non-Soil Fumigation (new manual using the national core manual for now with the addendum)

Manuals can be found at: https://pubs.extension.wsu.edu/product-category/publications/pesticide-training-materials/
