Virtual Animal Companion Challenge
The Virtual Animal Companion Challenge offers a variety of 4-H companion animal contests that don’t require live animals, including an essay, art, and photography contests. Youth have the opportunity to display their companion animal knowledge through these contests. Follow the guidelines for each contest entry and submit to yakima.4h@wsu.edu. $10 for first place $5 for second place $2 for third place in each category.
Art Contest – May be made from or include watercolor, oil, acrylic, tile, fabric, pencil, chalk, weaving, sculpted, plaster, pen, ink, crayon. Download Art Contest Challenge Guidelines
Essay Contest – Pick a category 1) Persuasive – Take definite side of an argument. Example * Adopting vs buying from a breeder * Hamsters are the type of pet. 2) Informative – Pick a subject on companion animals and explain your topic. Photography Contest – Themes with companion animals, photos taken with film, digital cameras, or smartphones. Submit a 2-3 sentence story of your photograph. Download Photography Contest Challenge Guidelines.
All entries must be submitted to yakima.4h@wsu.edu by 5:00 pm on May 31, 2023. All entries must have the Statement Of Authenticity completed and sent to yakima.4h@wsu.edu by 5:00 pm on May 31, 2023.
