Washington State 4-H Hippology Contest

Registration through 4-H Online will open January 1. Registration deadline is April 3, 2026.

• The WA State 4-H Hippology Contest will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake, WA.
• The State Contest is open to Intermediate and Senior 4-H Members who qualified at their county level to compete in this state level contest. Contestants may be selected by any procedure the county deems appropriate (e.g., a qualifying county event, application process, etc.).
• Registration is open in 4-H Online. Registration is required for each team member and coach. Registration deadline is April 1, 2026.
• The registration fee is $25 per contestant. This fee is payable by one check per team or county and is due at check in at the contest venue May 2. Checks should be made payable to WSU.

• Be sure to check out the Washington State Horse Contests Approved Sources for a list of materials that questions will be written from.
• NEW for 2026 – Scantron will be used to score all phases of the contest. Teams will be given detailed instruction and opportunity to practice with the form being used prior to the contest.
