Fair Resources

Fairs contribute to life skill development by teaching young people sportsmanship, cooperation, leadership, time management, teamwork, responsibility, positive personal relationships, respect for self and others, and communication skills. County and State Fairs offer 4-H youth the ability to showcase their talents and exhibit their project work and knowledge. 4-H members also have fun while they achieve their goals and spend time with friends.

County & Regional Fairs

Many youth participate in local County or Regional fairs. Each county and/or fair is responsible for establishing exhibitor guidelines and rules. Your local Extension Office can provide you with information about fairs in your area!

Exhibiting at the State Fair

The Washington State 4-H Fair welcomes youth to participate in the Washington State 4-H Fair, a 120-year-old partnership between the Washington State Fair and the Washington State University 4-H Youth Development Program. In order to participate at the State Fair, 4-H members will need to qualify at their local Fair to exhibit a poster, still life, show animals (Counties have a limited quota for each species they bring to State Fair) or do public presentations or demonstrations.

FairEntry is a fair management software from the same company that owns 4-H Online. Both systems integrate so members can log in using their 4-H Online credentials on both. Some county fairs and our State Fair use this software to manage entries, scoring and premium points.

The first time you enter FairEntry, check to make sure your address is correct as this is the address used for sending premium checks.

Project affiliation will be required for most entries, so check to make sure your project list is correct in 4-H Online.  If a project is missing from your profile, you must contact your local 4-H office to have projects added.

It is recommended that any animals you use in fairs be entered into 4-H Online.   Animals created in FairEntry will only be accessible during the current year’s fairs.
