About WSU Extension

Extending Knowledge and
Serving Statewide

Through inclusive outreach and engagement, including online and in-person courses, field days, public school events, and more, we connect with individuals and communities. Our focus and commitment has always been agricultural and natural resource sciences, but as times change, Extension adapts, partnering with local leaders to improve communities through economic growth and improving family health and the capacity of young people to succeed.

Our three program units reflect that focus and commitment: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Community & Economic Development, and Youth & Families.

We integrate new technology and innovative approaches into the field of agriculture and natural resources to make real-world impacts for producers, resource managers, and industries. Four WSU Research and Extension Centers throughout Washington state develop sound science, instruction, and outreach to meet local and regional needs and make immediate and long-term economic impacts.
