San Juan Forest Owner’s Field Day

Sharpen your stewardship skills at the San Juan Islands forest owners Field Day.

This all day Out-In-The-Woods event will feature workshops, demonstrations, tours and resources on a variety of topics for forest property owners of all experience levels. Participants can attend up to five workshops taught by state and local experts. Over a dozen different topics will be offered. Learn about forest issues specific to the San Juan Islands, how to foster healthy and resilient forest conditions, pursue fun new projects and how to achieve your goals for your property. The Field Day will feature a variety of different outdoor workshops to choose from covering a wide range of topics.

Topics covered include:

• Forest insects and diseases
• Fire risk reduction
• Wildlife habitat enhancement
• Forest soils
• Tree planting and site preparation
• And much more!

The Field Day will also feature exhibits by local agencies and organizations that assist owners of forested property.

Schedule:

• 8:00am – Gates open – time to mingle with vendors.
• 9:00am -12:20pm – Field Day workshops rotating every hour.
• 12:20pm-1:20pm – Lunch (not provided, Bring your own)
• 1:20pm-3:30pm – Field Day workshops rotating every hour.

Location:

This event will be held on a private forestland near Friday Harbor. The specific location information will be provided upon registration.

Fee:

• Individual———————$30
• Couple(same household)—-$45
• Youth under 18————–Free!

Pre-Registration is required. The registration deadline is Thursday September 25th at 5:00pm. Cancellations must be sent in before this time in order to be eligible for a refund, minus payment process fee.
