Grant County 4-H Clubs

A 4-H Club is an organized group of at least five youth from three different families who meet regularly with adult volunteers throughout the year to focus on various educational experiences. Club membership is open to youth starting at age 5 to 18 based upon their age on October 1st of the 4-H year.

The purpose of a 4-H club is to provide positive youth development opportunities to meet the needs of young people to experience belonging, mastery, independence, generosity, and to foster educational opportunities tied to the Washington State University knowledge base.

Financial Record Keeping

Management of 4-H funds is an important task for 4-H Clubs, below are several resources to maintain Club financial records.

A note about finances…

Clubs are able to maintain funds, but these funds are to be used equally by all current members. It is important to make a plan, create a budget, and fundraise only until the goal is met. Clubs should not fundraise to purchase project animals or animal feed (those expenses are the responsibility of the individual member). It is appropriate to raise money for educational opportunities, enrollment fees, club activities, and club t-shirts.
