WSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Annual Statewide Group Accident Policy
- WSU Extension 4-H Youth Development has an Annual Statewide Group Accident Policy through the Special Risk Division of American Income Life (AIL).
- This is the standard 4-H supplemental coverage purchased nationwide.
- This is not a liability insurance.
- The Annual Group Accident Policy ensures all of our enrolled 4-H participants have supplemental insurance coverage when attending 4-H group events, individual 4-H clubs, and county 4-H programs.
- AIL Special Risk Division policies are for youth, adult participants, and volunteers.
- The AIL Special Risk Division does not insure people less than age 5 for any activity.
- Coverage is not provided for spectators or members of the general public (see Special Activities Policies).
- Benefits can be applied towards deductibles, co-payment requirements, and expenses excess of personal insurance limits.
- The AIL Statewide Group Accident Policy is paid for with funds generated from the statewide enrollment fee that enrolled members pay each year and is renewed each 4-H year.
Special Activities Policies
- Special Activities Policies are needed for resident camps and other overnight travel outside the county, activities which are excluded by the annual policy such as downhill winter sports (skiing, snowboarding, tubing), and covering guests and other participants in events sponsored by 4-H/Extension who are not enrolled in your program.
- You may request coverage any time up to a day before the first event; however, you must submit your activity report before the event begins. While denials are rare, each request is reviewed in advance of your event to identify any potential problems and contact you with questions if needed.
- Premiums are .20, .25, or .30/person/day with an $8 minimum. The $8 minimum premium is applied per day when events are held on non-consecutive dates or per event when they are consecutive.
- Special Activities Coverage Online. Once you have submitted your application, print/save the “Confirmation/Remittance Form” generated by the website to track your final numbers and send in along with your payment after your events are over.
