Environment and Community Outreach

Environment and Community Outreach (ECO) Team at Snohomish County Extension at the new office in Willis Tucker Park.

Four people stand beside a WSU Snohomish County Environmental Outreach banner.

The Environment and Community Outreach (ECO) team is comprised of three programs: the Beach Watchers, the Sustainable Community Stewards (SCS), and the Promotores del Medio Ambiente. The Beach Watchers program focuses on marine education and stewardship, whereas the SCS and Promotores programs focus on environmental stewardship, sustainability, and waste reduction.

All three programs utilize volunteers from the Snohomish County community to host events, workshops, trainings, and more. These programs could not succeed without the commitment, expertise, and experiences of these volunteers.

The ECO team is led by Dr. Patricia Townsend, who supervises and supports each program coordinator so that the natural and urban areas of Snohomish County can be stewarded by these programs.
