Digging into Garden Soil – a free gardening workshop

Meet in the Compost Area. We will be outside and sitting, standing and walking on pavement, gravel and grass. Please plan clothing and footwear accordingly.
Seating is limited and you are welcome to bring your own chair.
No advance registration required, just show up.

The workshop will focus on the basics of healthy garden soil. The following will be covered:
- What is the best thing to add to your garden’s soil
- What happens when you use fertilizer
- What is the difference between different types of compost
- What is “healthy” soil and how to increase the microbial biomass in your soil
