Coronavirus COVID-19

COVID-19 Advisory: WSU Extension is working to keep our communities safe. All Extension programming is being provided virtually, postponed, or canceled. Effective March 16, 2020, WSU Extension county offices and WSU Research & Extension Centers will be closed to the public. We are available via email, phone, and webconference.

WSU has implemented a new policy based on the state requirements to require all employees and volunteers serving on behalf of WSU to show proof of vaccination to continue in service after October 18th. If you are a currently enrolled volunteer, Wahkiakum County Extension staff will be in touch with you soon individually to verify vaccination, or talk through the following options if you do not plan to be vaccinated:

  1. If you would like to continue to serve and are in need of exemption for medical or religious reasons, there is an application for exemption.
  2. If you would like to take a break from service considering the new requirements, I can change your status to inactive for the time being. We will thankfully welcome you back when the time comes.

We are grateful for your service to the youth and families of Wahkiakum County.

Please see this letter for further details from Washington State University. Volunteer Vaccination Letter Sept 3 2021

Thank you for your patience with us during these difficult times.
