This unique, hands-on event is open to the public free of charge and welcomes anyone with an interest in sheep, wool, and the process of harvesting fiber. This family-friendly event offers a fascinating glimpse into the journey from sheep to finished product, highlighting the importance of sustainable fiber production and the enduring traditions of sheep herding and wool craft. Don’t miss this chance to experience the sights, sounds and textures of the spring shearing season amidst the natural beauty of Marrowstone Island.

FREE FAMILY EVENT
Featuring:
- Sheep handling and shearing by master shearer Elizabeth Resager
- Sheep herding by Dr. Hank Snelgrove and his border collie Sage.
- Demonstrations on skirting grading and sorting fleeces by Dean Hyden (ASI certified wool grader).
- Observe skilled fiber artist from our local spinners guild turning sheep fiber into a beautiful yarn.
- Live Country Music by Jill and Kevin with the other guys.
- Meet local 4-H leaders and learn about programs in our community.
