GREETINGS IN THE TIME OF COVID-19
Due to COVID-19, we will probably not greet each other with a handshake in the future. Mike Jensen has issued a challenge to all clubs: Come up with ways that we will greet each other in the future. Take a photo or draw a picture of your creative ideas and send them to Vickie Blanchet (schoolontheroad@gmail.com) or post them on the Pend Oreille County 4-H Facebook page as a comment on this post. Mike will put them all together and share them with everyone.
VIRTUAL ALL-COUNTY MEETINGS
At the POC Leader Council meeting it was decided to offer several All-County Virtual meetings for the end of May – beginning of June. At each meeting we will invite a speaker to share about one aspect or one task of a 4-H project. Youth will have an opportunity to ask questions. At a follow-up meeting, youth will share what they worked on and receive feedback.
These meetings will be advertised as an event on Facebook, via News & Views, and through the website. Youth will be asked to sign up to participate and a Zoom link will be sent out.
Look for dates and topics on the Pend Oreille County 4-H Facebook page and WSU POC Extension website.
VIRTUAL SERVICE PROJECT
There are many people who have continued to work and serve the public through the COVID-19 crisis, including truck drivers, janitors, health care workers, and grocery store staff. We would like to encourage all the clubs to send Thank You cards to these essential service people in their communities.
Instructions for sending digital cards and templates for cards can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1yyVozs2aoexHf7Ww8mCSOvQjxK_stykC
