Dirt Talk Farm Walk: Agritourism – Integrating Animal Experiences & Farm Tours

WSU Regional Small Farms will be hosting a special series of educational Dirt Talk Farm Walks in 2025 throughout Kitsap County in conjunction with the Kitsap Agritourism Coalition farms. This group of dedicated farmers will be sharing their unique experiences and expertise around integrating agritourism as part of your farm business.

Join us for the first Dirt Talk Farm Walk in this series out at Sawdust Hill Alpaca Farm in Poulsbo, WA. This farm walk is designed for farm owners looking to integrate animal experiences and farm tours into their agritourism ventures.

  • Farm Tours: Discover the ins and outs of running successful farm tours that captivate and educate the public.
  • On-Farm Sales Outlets: Learn how the farm set up their on-farm sales outlet to enhance visitor experience and boost the farm’s revenue.
  • Animal Interaction: Get hands-on experience with the farm’s friendly alpacas and see firsthand how animal interactions can enhance your farm’s appeal.

Please only register for the farm walk if you plan to attend as there is limited space for this event. If you register and are unable to come, we kindly ask that you inform us at least 48 hours before the event so that we may open registration to other interested farmers.

Language Interpretation Opportunity: WSU Extension Regional Small Farms Program has acquired portable language interpretation equipment to increase more meaningful access to educational opportunities. We currently offer live Spanish interpretation when available. Persons who need Spanish translation services at our events, please contact your local Extension office at least two weeks in advance of the event.
