Skagit County 4-H members in grades 9–12 may apply for the 4-H Letterman Award. First-year recipients receive a 4-H Varsity Letter, and returning recipients may earn a year rocker for each consecutive year they meet the requirements.
Graduating seniors who have been enrolled in 4-H for at least two years may also earn a 4-H Honor Cord. Eligible graduating seniors may receive both awards.
Applicants must meet the requirements for a Year Pin, have earned a blue ribbon on their previous year’s Record Book, participated in the County Public Presentation Contest in March of the current year, and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants must also have served in a 4-H leadership role during the current year, such as a Teen Leader, club officer, or committee chair. Applicants will be asked to upload a current transcript or report card and submit a 3–5 sentence statement describing how they have benefited from their 4-H experience.
Applications must be submitted by the first Monday in April. Awards are presented at the May Leaders’ Council meeting.
