Pláticas – Tenemos Voz: Latino Peer Recovery

What: In collaboration with the Office of Peer Recovery and Engagement, the National Latino Behavioral Health Association proudly announces a Facebook LIVE series.  An interactive 60 minute webcast with special guests – Melisha Montano and Nathan Lawson, peer support and recovery experts who will discuss helpful tips and positive steps on improving continuum of care and recovery efforts.

Melisha L. Montano, CPSW OPRE Program Manager Melisha Montano, is a Certified Peer Support worker trainer and is a woman in long term recovery. She currently serves the State of New Mexico as the program manager for the Office of Peer Recovery and Engagement which is housed in the Behavioral Health Services Division, and a part of the Human Services Department.

Nathan Lawson, CPSW OPRE Training Coordinator Nathan Lawson, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, was born and raised in southern New Mexico. Nathan is a person in long term recovery, and continues to work every day in our communities to enhance and expand peer support as a behavioral health service, to help those that may still be struggling.
