4-H members can exhibit Educational Displays at the Evergreen State Fair!
This is an often overlooked department for 4-Hers. There are no requirements during fair, such as herdsmanship or contests, and the points awarded are significant. If your display is connected to a particular project area, it will be moved after judging to the associated 4-H barn. Otherwise, it will be displayed along with the open-class Educational Displays in the Display Hall.

Evergreen State Fair 2026: Exceptional Educational Theme Award
The 2026 Evergreen State Fair marks the second consecutive year that the Educational Display department (Department Z, see last two pages) is presenting a special award to recognize outstanding achievement.
Exceptional Educational Theme Award Details
This award honors one top exceptional Educational Theme display chosen from all the 4-H Educational Displays within Department Z. The recipient will receive an additional $50 prize. To be eligible, entries must satisfy two specific criteria:
- The display must incorporate the current Fair Theme throughout their whole display.
- The display must have received a Special Placing award.
- All Blue-ribbon winners in the Educational Display department Z are candidates that might receive a Special Placing Rosette award.
2026 Fair Theme: “Barn in the USA”
The theme for this year’s fair is “Barn in the USA.” A suggestion on how to incorporate the theme may be creating a display that focuses on a process, tool, procedure, breed of animal, tack, or any other element relevant to your 4-H project that was developed in the USA.
Entry Information
You must enter online by Wednesday, August 19th, and bring your entries in on Saturday, August 22nd, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to building 500.
