Growing Groceries: Growing the Carrot, Lettuce, Corn, Broccoli & Rhubarb Families

The Carrot (Apiaceae) family also includes parsnips, celery and with many herbs like dill, fennel, and caraway. We will cover members of the lettuce (Asteraceae) family, as well as the corn (Poaceae) family, broccoli (Brassicaceae) family which includes broccoli, cabbage, kale, cauliflower, mustard, Brussels sprouts and as well as the buckwheat (Polygonaceae) family which includes rhubarb and sorrel. Topics covered include variety selection, cultural requirements, and common pests and diseases affecting these families.
