Trail Party! ~ Rosencranz and 35th Sts

February 17, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Industrious residents with a love of city parks and trails are invited to spend a couple of hours helping to maintain trails at 35th Street Park in Port Townsend.

A volunteer trail work party is set for 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Feb. 17.

The work is led by members of the city’s Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board, along with volunteer assistance. Trail maintenance activities include adding gravel to portions of the trail to fill low, muddy spots, and trimming brush.

Anyone interested in lending a helping hand should meet at the trail entrance into the park at the corner of 35th and Rosecrans streets, which is accessed via Umatilla Avenue, according to a press release from the city.

Volunteers are welcome to bring gloves, wheelbarrows, shovels and rakes for moving and spreading gravel, and pruners and loppers for clearing vegetation.

Sturdy work boots and appropriate clothing for weather – rain or shine – are also advised. Snacks are provided afterward.

For more information, contact Alex Wisniewski, director of city parks, recreation and community services, at awisniewski@cityofpt.us or 360-379-5081. Scott Walker, chair of the Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board Chair, can also provide information. Contact Walker at walkers@olympus.net
