First Day Hike – Lake Sylvia
January 1, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Why not start 2019 with some time out-of-doors while taking advantage of a free-parking day at one of great state parks?
Lake Sylvia State Park is a perfect place for lowland hiking anytime during the winter — and why not New Year’s Day? You’ll love the idyllic lake setting and the old-growth forest trails. A park ranger will lead a 2-mile hike along the trail that loops around Lake Sylvia. A volunteer from the Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia (FOSLS) will lead a shorter stroll as well. Learn about the history of the Lake Sylvia area and discuss native plants and wildlife. The FOSLS folks will provide cocoa and cookies.
