Winter Seed Sowing in Milk Jugs Workshop
February 26, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Thinking about planting your vegetable garden? Want to get an early start? The Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties are presenting a seed sowing workshop, using milk jugs as planters. Join us Sunday, February 26th from 1:00 – 3:00 PM in the Borden Seabert Exhibition Building (also known as The Dog Barn), located behind the Pavilion at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds in Elma. This workshop will include hands-on activities.
The workshop will cover gardening information about early seed starting focusing on which seeds are best to start this early in the growing season. Attendees will learn about which seeds prefer cool conditions and which seeds prefer warmer growing conditions. Each attendee will have the opportunity to plant 2 prepared milk jugs for planting with the understanding that they will take one of the planted milk jugs home, and leave one for the Master Gardeners to grow for the local Food Bank.
