Featuring more than 50 exhibitors, the Jefferson County Home Show offers visitors a chance to learn about building products, cabinetry, home design, new construction loans, home automation, garden ideas, electric vehicles, solar power and so much more!

Seven Presentations are scheduled for the day:

9 am           Clinic: Composting 101 with Olympic Biochar
Methods of both small (backyard) and large scale compost production will be shown with a discussion of various composting systems, including materials, bins, processes, etc.  The most recent findings regarding co-composting with Olympic Biochar will be also be explored, focusing on synergisms between compost and Olympic Biochar in building regenerative, living soil.

10 am         Presentation: SMART ENERGY SOLUTIONS

12 Noon      Clinic: Inspiring growth: Pruning for success!

1pm              Presentation: Why Edible Landscaping?
Edible landscaping is the practical integration of food plants within an ornamental or decorative setting. The same design principles as for ornamental landscapes are used, while substituting edible plants such as lettuces, blueberries, vegetables and fruit trees for some of the otherwise unproductive plant material. Using edibles in landscape design can enhance a garden by providing a unique ornamental component with additional health, aesthetic, and economic benefits. Edible landscaping is a mixture of beauty and utility.

As the last presentation of the day we are hosting a moderated panel on local housing and future developments. The panel will include City & County officials, Members of Affordable Housing Groups and representatives of local development projects.
