The WSU Master Gardener Program is now offering two different tracks for participants who are interested in gaining horticultural skills from WSU through their new Washington Green School!
- The Washington Gardener track is a flexible, do at your own pace, online-only course that benefits gardeners. Participants will earn a Washington Gardener Certificate of Completion. This track is intended for those who want to use their knowledge for professional development, resume building, or personal knowledge.
- The WSU Extension Master Gardener volunteer track includes completion of Washington Green School online, in-person learning opportunities with your county program, and volunteer hours. This leads to a WSU Extension Master Gardener certification upon fulfilling both course and volunteer requirements. This track is intended for those who want to have access to continuing education and contribute to their community through volunteering and educating others.

The integration of various horticulture topics offers a comprehensive education, encompassing both the science and art of gardening. Additionally, it equips participants with the necessary skills to effectively disseminate this knowledge within the community. This approach underscores the program’s dedication to science-based education and sustainable practices. As a result, graduates of the WSU Extension Master Gardener Program possess a solid horticultural foundation and the confidence to engage in community education and outreach.
