Rotary Club Complimentary Breakfast – Aug 13

4-H members, parents, and volunteers are invited to a free breakfast on Thursday, August 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 AM at the Grange Kitchen. This meal is generously provided by the Rotary Club of Puyallup, who have supported 4-H with breakfast for over 75 years! As you go through the line, please take a moment to thank the Rotary members for their longstanding dedication. Thank you, Rotary Club of Puyallup and their sponsors!

Fall Leaders Meeting

The Fall Leaders Meeting will be held on October 8 at the Allmendinger Center at the WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Center. Each club is required to have at least one leader or member in attendance. This meeting will include the election of the Secretary and Vice President positions for the Leaders Council. An official meeting notice with additional details will be sent to volunteers at the end of August.

4-H Office

At this time, the doors to the Pierce County 4‑H office are locked during the day. If you need to stop by, please schedule a visit with Mike or Shelley to ensure someone is available. When you arrive, call 253‑798‑7160 and someone will come open the door.

Exhibitor Tents – Pierce County Fair

At the Pierce County Fair, exhibitors will have the opportunity to use a private space within each animal barn. These exhibitor tents offer a quiet area away from the public, providing resources to help 4-H members share their Fair experiences.

Volunteer Opportunities at the County & State Fair

We’re looking for teen and adult volunteers to support 4‑H at the Pierce County Fair and the Washington State 4‑H Fair. If you enjoy working with the public and have basic computer skills, we have a spot for you—whether you can give a few hours or more.

You don’t need to commit to a full shift; any amount of help makes a big difference. Volunteering is a great way to support local youth, connect with the community, and be part of the fun at the fairs.

Countdown to the WA State Fair – Sept. 4–27

Animals and Activities – State Fair Registration

Each county has a limited number of exhibitor spots, so only participants listed on their department’s Round‑Up forms will be eligible to advance to the State Fair. Qualified exhibitors will receive a ticket stub from their department. This stub can be exchanged at the 4‑H Booth in the Discovery Pavilion (Grange Building) at the Pierce County Fair for three wristbands—one for the exhibitor and two for chaperones. Wristbands are valid for all days the exhibitor is showing at the State Fair. If you are unsure whether you qualify, please contact your barn superintendent.

Qualified participants must register through the State Fair FairEntry site.

Still Life Turn In – State Fair

Any exhibit receiving a blue ribbon at the county fair qualifies to go to the State Fair. Still life exhibits have 2 options for turn in to the State Fair

• They will be promoted from the Pierce County Fair to the State Fair through your department superintendent. 
• Families can choose to register their items in State Fair FairEntry and take their exhibits directly to the State Fair on August 31 / September 1.  Turn in is on the second floor of the Pavilion near the Gold Gate.  You can drive to the Pavilion by entering the Service Gate on 5^th Street SW off 15^th Ave SW on the south west corner of the fairgrounds.

If you have a photography exhibit – you also have the option of

• Having it promoted from the Pierce County Fair to the State Fair through the department superintendent. 

Turn in Dates: Monday, August 31 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm or Tuesday, September 1 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Pierce County Fair Results Online

The Public Results Page for the Pierce County Fair will be available through FairEntry once each department has entered its results.

Although the site is private, you are welcome to share the link with family and friends so they can view results when they become available. Please avoid posting the link on public social media platforms.

4honline Temporarily Closed for Annual Rollover

4-H Online is currently offline while the State Office prepares the system for the 2026–2027 program year. During this time, staff are completing data cleanup and rollover processes. The platform will reopen for member re-enrollment on October 1.

All registered Pierce County 4‑H volunteers are automatically members of the Pierce County 4‑H Leaders Council! This group plays a vital role in supporting youth, families, and clubs across our county—and we need your help.

The Leaders Council Executive Board is currently short on volunteers. The Council supports countywide 4‑H programs, including:

The Board Meetings are monthly on the 3rd Thursday @ 7:00 pm at the Pierce County 4-H office in person or there is a zoom option. If interested contact Mike Seiber.
