Holiday Baking Challenges

Nailed it or Failed it? Have you seen the show “Nailed It” on Netflix? Novice bakers try their hand at professional baking challenges in a short period of time and put their skills to the test. In this high-stakes environment, you can count on mistakes to be made and fun to be had. In my family, we have a tradition of a “Nailed It” inspired baking challenge for each holiday where the kids team up with cousins or grown ups and make something delicious and slightly difficult that ups their skills in the kitchen. The judging is almost as fun as the baking!

This has easily become one of our most-favorite traditions that the kids ask about for weeks leading up to the event, and I decided it’s time to share the fun with our 4-H families! 4-H is about youth development, and learning new skills in the kitchen while pushing ourselves and learning from mistakes is what an activity like this is all about. So download our instructions, and give this a try with your family- and don’t forget to send us pictures (info below)! We’ll share photos of all of the creations on our Facebook page!
