Basic Volunteer Requirements for Participation:

▪ Minimum age requirement: Volunteers must have reached their 8th birthday before October 1 (start of current 4-H year) to participate. Only volunteers who meet this requirement may be in the enclosed riding arena, ride a horse, walk with riders or ride in a cart.

▪ Required Attire:  Wear long pants, socks and a pair of STURDY shoes or western boots.  Walkers (peer mentors, 4-H members) MUST wear western boots for safety.

▪ Check in:  Arrive on-time and check in at the registration table.

▪ Equestrian helmets must be worn while riding horseback or in a cart, no exceptions. Helmets will be provided for non 4-H participants. Volunteers may not enter the enclosed riding arena without a helmet.

▪ Safety: Follow all safety rules and 4-H policy.
