Master Food Preserver Gauge Testing

Canning this year? Pressure canners have a dial gauge that a should be tested yearly, and new gauges need to be testing before first use.

If you use a dial-gauge pressure canner, you should have the gauge tested annually to be sure the canner is reaching a safe pressure during canning.

Yakima County Master Food Preservers will be testing canning gauges free of charge in the Yakima County Extension office, 2403 S 18th Street, Suite 100, Union Gap

Wednesday, September 16, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Friday, September 18, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Fore more information or to schedule your canner lid testing you can contact the Extension office at 574-1576.  Walk-ins are welcome!

You can download and complete the forms before coming to the office.  The forms will also be available at the office for you to complete.
