4-H S.N.A.C. Club Digital Download

4-H SNAC (Student Nutrition Advisory Council) Clubs are student led 4-H clubs that promote leadership skills that focus on healthy living, nutrition, physical activity, cooking, and public speaking.

4-H SNAC Club is a way to integrate positive youth development and community engagement into existing nutrition (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education (SNAP-Ed) or Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) programs, while increasing equitable access and opportunity to participate in 4-H among limited resource communities.

This curriculum is a guide provides facilitators with templates to use when planning a 4-H SNAC Club program, communication tools for setting up a successful program, and supportive structure for fostering increasing levels of youth leadership and club decision-making.

Heads in, Hearts In:  Full Healthy Living Activity Book – Michigan State University Extension

The Heads In, Hearts In family enrichment program encourages families to use their minds as a tool to expand their knowledge around a variety of topic areas. This packet contains all 15 healthy living activities.

Building Healthy Habits – University of Minnesota Extension

In this lesson, youth in grades K-2 learn about physical health by practicing strategies for healthy eating and movement habits.

Fuel Up, Tune Up, Groove Up

This series of six lessons focuses on whole-body wellness for youth in grades K-3. The lesson themes are based on the MyPlate template and include healthy living skill-building, such as mindfulness and physical activity, as well as trying new foods by making healthy snacks. Each lesson was created to be used in a 30-minute online format but can be easily adapted for use in person.

Handwashing, a 4-H Spark Activity – North Carolina 4-H (YouTube video)

How do you correctly wash your hands? Join in on this fun activity to find out. Presented by Kristen Bedell, a Doctoral student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Graduate School of Education.

Materials needed: glitter, petroleum jelly, measuring spoons, and a plate. Be careful! This is messy. Talk to your caregiver first and get permission.
