4-H Fair Forms

4-H at the Whidbey Island Fair

For many people the county fair is the highlight of the summer!  The public come out to enjoy the animals, food, entertainment, and maybe a ride or two.  Some of the people that visit fairs have never seen some our 4-H animals in real life, or they weren’t aware of all the talents that the local youth have.   Fair really can be a fun time for all!

Fair can also be a challenging time!  4H members have committed countless hours to their project, and worked all year in order to participate at the county fair.  Long hours, potentially uncomfortable weather, hard work, lots of people, and competition can impact even the most mature and experienced competitors (and their parents)!  It is really important to set reasonable goals prior to going to fair, pace yourself while at fair, and communicate to your support team if you are confused or need help.

Remember to be patient, be kind, and be flexibile.  Fair should be fun!
