You’re invited to join the Graziers Study Group. The New Year is off to a good start with another good Graziers Study Group discussion. Fifteen folks gathered at the Disco Bay Detour to start discussion around the book Holistic Management: A Commonsense Revolution to Restore Our Environment by Allan Savory and Jody Butterfield.

Content for the discussion this week included grazing goats and pigs together, predator protection of livestock, Roger Short’s journey from being a conventional dairyman to an all grass-fed beef producer, questioning the concept of what constitutes a native species, water system design, ecosystem succession and disturbance as a factor to increase biodiversity.
