Seed Stewards

Seed is a living resource developed over thousands of years. As a Seed Steward, we accept the responsibility to preserve and protect this heritage. Local seed saving is essential for ensuring an abundant supply of regionally adapted seeds that is securely maintained. With the help of Seed Stewards like you, a foundation for a community-based seed system can be established that will strengthen our community and local food resilience.

In addition to and separate from becoming a member, we host a Community Seed Project (CSP).  Each year we grow out select seed varieties and save them as a community. These seeds provide the inventory for the Seed Library for years to come.

I will return a portion of the seeds to the Seed Library and keep the rest to use in my next years' gardens 2) I agree to follow, to the best of my abilities, organic principles and “best practices” to maintain seed quality for the variety(s) I grow. 3) I agree to include relevant and accurate labeling information for all the seeds that I share. 4) I agree not to purchase, sell, or share knowingly, genetically engineered (GMO) or patented seeds or plants.
