Rotary Club Free Breakfast – Aug 7

4-H members, parents, and volunteers, you’re invited to a special breakfast on Thursday, August 7, from 6:30 to 8:00 AM at the Grange Kitchen. This breakfast is generously provided by the Rotary Club of Puyallup, who have been supporting 4-H with breakfast for an incredible 75 years! As you go through the line, please remember to thank the Rotary members for their longstanding support. Thank You Rotary Club of Puyallup!
Exhibitor Tents
This year, each animal barn will have an exhibitor tent. These tents offer exhibitors a private space away from the public, providing resources to help 4-H members share their Fair experiences.
Volunteers Needed at the Fairs
We’re looking for teen and adult volunteers to support 4-H at the Pierce County Fair and the Washington State 4-H Fair. If you enjoy working with the public and have basic computer skills, we have a spot for you—whether you can give a few hours or more. You don’t have to commit to an entire shift; any amount of help is appreciated! Contact Shelley Friend
Breakfast Available at the Pierce County Fair – New This Year
The Grange kitchen will be open for breakfast: (Prices vary depending on what is ordered.) Wednesday starting at 8:00 AM and Friday–Sunday starting at 6:00 AM.
Some of the old Chuckwagon crew will be back, serving up hobo hash and other classic breakfast favorites. If you’re on the grounds early, stop by and fuel up for a great day at the Fair!
Pierce County Fair Results Online
The Public Results Page for the Pierce County Fair can be found at Fair Entry Results they are live once departments enter the results in FairEntry. This is a private site, but feel free to send this link to relatives and friends so they can see the results. Please do not post this on public social media accounts.
WA State Fair Bound – August 29 to September 21.
Please note that there have been changes this year due to the removal of the M Barn, resulting in the relocation of animals to different barns. Be sure to review the 2025 State 4-H Fair Exhibitor Guide before registering for the State Fair.
Animals and Activities State Fair Registration
Each county has a limited number of exhibitor spots available, so only those listed on their department’s Round-Up forms will be eligible to move on to the State Fair. Qualified exhibitors will receive a ticket stub from their department, which can be exchanged at the 4-H Information Booth at the Pierce County Fair for three wristbands—one for the exhibitor and two for chaperones. These wristbands are valid for all days the exhibitor is showing at the State Fair. Note: Paper tickets are no longer being used.

Qualified participants must register through the State Fair FairEntry site.
If you’re unsure whether you qualify, please contact your barn superintendent.
Still Life Turn In – State Fair
Any exhibit receiving a blue ribbon at the county fair qualifies to go to the State Fair. Still life exhibits have 2 options for turn in to the State Fair
- They will be promoted from the Pierce County Fair to the State Fair through your department superintendent.
- Families can choose to register their items in State Fair FairEntry and take their exhibits directly to the State Fair on August 25 and 26th. Turn in is on the second floor of the Pavilion near the Gold Gate. You can drive to the Pavilion by entering the Service Gate on 5th Street SW off 15th Ave SW on the south end of the fairgrounds.
Turn in Dates: Monday, August 25 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm Tuesday, August 26 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Fall Leaders Meeting
The Fall Leaders Meeting will be held on September 25 at the Allmendinger Center at the WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Center. It is required that each club have at least one leader or member in attendance. This meeting will include the election of new officers to the Leaders Council. An official meeting notice with more details will be sent to volunteers at the end of August.
4-H Online Shut Down for Rollover to 2025/2026
4HOnline is currently shut down to allow the State Office to clean up and roll over all data for the upcoming program year. The system will reopen for re-enrollment on October 1.

Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of the month at the 4-H office. Zoom is available. The June meeting has been canceled due to the Juneteenth holiday.
Livestock Judging Contest
On Saturday June 28th, 20 members of Pierce County 4-H and two members of King County 4-H (Cross-county judging with Pierce County) traveled to the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake for the 2025 WA State 4-H Livestock Judging contest. The members that qualified will be attending the National Livestock Judging Competition in Colorado.
The teams participated against teams from all over the state in Junior, Intermediate, and Senior divisions. They judged a total of 8 classes of livestock including sheep, goats, swine, and beef cattle.
There were a total of 110 participants and Pierce County had three-Senior teams, two-intermediate teams, and one-junior team.
