4-H Leaders Council Leader Grant

Pierce County 4-H Adult Grants are offered by the 4-H Council to encourage our 4-H leaders to participate in continuing education, chaperoning or coach youth for local, state, and national events and competitions. Grants are awarded based on both the financial need and the willingness to work with the Pierce County 4-H Council.

Eligibility

Current 4-H Leader in good standing.

Conditions

As a recipient of a Pierce County 4-H Council Education Grant you must be willing to fully participate in the event or activity. If the recipient of a Council Leaders Grant is attending an adult leader training course, they should be prepared to share their experiences with others. If the recipient is chaperoning a group of youth on an activity they should consider getting involved with pre and/or post meetings with the group.

Application Requirements

  • Online applications must be complete and submitted prior to the event.
  • Grant Applications must be received before the Council meeting prior to the event.  The Council meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month. 

Selection Process

Grants will be awarded based on the following:

  • The statement of financial need
  • Current involvement in 4-H
  • The explanation on how this educational experience will help you as a volunteer 4-H Leader
  • Willingness to share knowledge and time with Pierce County 4-H.
  • Availability of grant funds.

All applications will be reviewed by the Pierce County 4-H Council Scholarship Committee before being submitted to the 4-H Leaders Council for final approval.  For on-line registration and qualified expenses, receipts will be required, and reimbursement will be made after the event.
