Pierce County 4-H Youth Additional Funds Grants are offered by the WSU Pierce County 4-H Leaders Council (hereafter Council) to cover expenses over and above the Council Opportunity Grant for 4-H youth to participate in 4-H National experiences, educational opportunities, and events.
Eligibility
The youth must be currently enrolled and participating as a Pierce County 4-H member. 4-H membership is available to all youths (7-19 years of age) without discrimination. Evidence of noncompliance may be reported to your local Extension Office.
Conditions
Only 1 Additional Funds Grant will be awarded to each 4-H member per year. The 4-H year is from October 1 to September 30. Youth are expected to also request funds from other organizations or fund raising opportunities. Recipients of a Pierce County 4-H Leaders Council Youth Opportunity Additional Funds Grant must be prepared to share their experiences with the Council upon returning. Application Requirements
- Amounts must align with those on the submitted Youth Opportunity Grant.
- Grant Applications must be received before the Council meeting prior to the event. The Council meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month.
Selection Process
Grants will be awarded based on the following:
- The reasons given for wanting to attend the event.
- The explanation of how you plan to better serve 4-H and the community after attending.
- If this is not the first grant being applied for, what community service, leadership or help has been rendered since receiving the last grant?
- Availability of grant funds.
All applications will be reviewed by the Pierce County 4-H Leaders Council for approval based on funds available. For on-line registration and qualified expenses, receipts will be required, and reimbursement will be made after the event.
