The Sawtooth Ranch Guided Tour

Join The Sawtooth Ranch for a guided tour of their integrated farming and ranching operation. Learn about the intersection of conservation and cultivation. They will share insights into the ways they incorporate animal husbandry and land management into a production model that supports a market farm and farmshare program. All while supporting sensitive habitat for native flora and fauna on protected land.

The tour will cover a substantial area of the property over approximately 90 minutes so please wear comfortable clothing and durable shoes, and protection from the sun. Picnic tables are available for Creekside dining so consider bringing a snack to enjoy after the tour.

When: Sunday, September 18th 11am-12:30pm – please arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
Event location: The Sawtooth Ranch just west of Port Angeles near Joyce, WA (exact address to be given upon registering)
Audience: Public, Farmers, Producers, Gardeners (anyone interested in learning more about the topic!)
Registration: You must register to attend this event.

Parking is limited at this site so registration will be limited to 10 cars. We encourage carpooling. When selecting to register, your “ticket” will be counted as one car, you will then be asked to identify who will be joining you at the tour by giving each attendees name. This will allow us to have a count of attendees we will be expecting. If you have questions before registering, please contact Lisa Vaughn at lisa.vaughn@wsu.edu. The Sawtooth Ranch is a diversified farmstead located along Salt Creek, on the former site of Westwind Farm, offering an 18 week seasonal farmshare program. Icelandic Sheep are the cornerstone of the operation and they also raise fowl, forage and wildcraft on 53 acres, in trust with the North Olympic Land Trust.
