Here’s What to Expect
Spring in Skagit County means one thing for gardeners: it’s time for the Plant Fair.
On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Skagit County Master Gardener Foundation will host its 32nd annual Plant Fair, bringing thousands of plants—and gardeners—together at the Skagit County Fairgrounds.
Whether you’re a seasoned grower or just getting started, this event is a can’t-miss opportunity to stock your garden and learn from local experts.
Locally Grown, Garden-Ready Plants
One of the biggest reasons gardeners return year after year? The plants.
More than 10,000 plants will be available, all grown or selected by Master Gardeners who understand exactly what thrives in our local climate. That includes:
- Over 3,700 tomato plants across 50+ varieties
- Vegetables, herbs, and annual flowers
- Perennials like peonies, hostas, and ferns
- Native plants and pollinator favorites
- Unique hanging baskets and succulent arrangements
These aren’t just any plants—they’re tested for success in Skagit County gardens.
More Than a Plant Sale
The Plant Fair is also one of the best places to get trusted gardening advice.
You’ll find Master Gardeners throughout the event, ready to help you:
- Choose the right plants
- Diagnose garden problems
- Improve soil and watering practices
Be sure to stop by:
- The Plant Clinic (bring samples or photos!)
- The Pollinator Booth to learn which plants attract bees and butterflies
- The Tomato Answer Man for expert tomato-growing tips
A Full Day of Gardening Fun
Beyond plants and education, the event features:
- 60+ vendors selling garden art, tools, and gifts
- Food trucks and refreshments
- Free tool sharpening (limit two tools)
- The popular Emporium with gently used garden items
