Mason County Master Gardener Training

Trainees learn through online learning modules and classroom sessions.  Classes are hands on learning experiences that give the participant an opportunity to use what is learned in the on line course training and interact with other Master Gardeners and trainees. To become certified as a Master Gardener, 60 approved volunteer hours must also be completed within one year of training completion.  Ongoing volunteer hours are required to maintain certification. Classes will be held in Shelton and various field sites.  Cost is $275 with $205 payable to the Mason County Master Gardeners Foundation along  with your application submission plus $70 paid directly to WSU when you register for the on line course. When trainees become certified after completing their volunteer hours, a $100 refund will be issued.

if you are interested you must attend an orientation. Orientation sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, August 30 at noon or Tuesday, September 5 at 5:30 pm.  Both sessions will be held at the Shelton Public Library conference room.   A new training session begins on September 22.  If you are interested please submit the MCMG Student Volunteer Contract and the 2017 MCMG Training Application
