PLEASE PARK IN THE FAIRGROUNDS AND BRING A WAGON to the rear of the Extension office

A local nursery is moving their beautiful perennials out as their nursery is changing from wholesale to retail next year, and graciously donated nearly 2000 plants to us.  The Master Gardeners have a fantastic array of perennial plants that will bring you beauty and joy year after year, with very little upkeep. Our prices are $3/small pot, $5/large pot. These are plants that would be upwards of $10 each in a retail setting.   We accept cash and credit cards. We would love to share our good fortune with you!

Your purchases will help support your local Master Gardeners’ community outreach workshops, activities, and the greenhouse we have been trying for so long to build!

And fall is the best time to transplant perennials.  Why?

  • Soil is still warm—plants will have a lot more time to put out strong root growth for next year
  • Less insect pests and plant disease this time of year
  • No need to keep plants watered, and better drought tolerance next year because of their more robust root system
  • Plants have a big head start for next spring. Because their roots get a good start in fall, plants can put their energy into spring growing.
  • It’s a GREAT TIME to buy bargain plants!

Here’s what we have–click the links for more detailed information:

  • Crocosmia– Full sun (orange and yellow)–hummingbird and butterfly magnets!
  • Asiatic lilies– Full/part sun
  • Astilbes– shade/semi-shade: Early “fluffy” white (Washington), late white (Diamond), and deep pink (Red Sentinal).  The white ones are fantastic for contrast in your flower garden
  • Hostas– Shade–/semi-shade loving beauties—great for borders
  • Creeping Johns Wort(groundcover) -full sun to part shade – covers a slope in no time, and bees and other pollinators love the 2-3 inch flowers.
  • Calla Lilies– full sun to part shade,  (white)
