Become a 4-H Leader

Program Contact: Jennifer Leach, 4-H Youth Development Faculty
360-577-3014 ext. 4 • jleach@wsu.edu

The strength and vitality of the 4-H club program in Cowlitz County is dependent upon willingness of adults to become 4-H leaders to work with kids in a positive and meaningful way. Many of our current 4-H clubs are full….so if you are interested in having your children in the Cowlitz County 4-H program….we need your help!!!

Potential new leaders will receive information and materials related to the 4-H volunteer application and screening process and receive other basic new leader materials related to the Cowlitz County 4-H Youth program.

Once the application and screening process is completed and your approved to become a leader then you will be required to show proof of Vaccination Status of COVID- 19. Then the last step is completing new leader training to help you in your new 4-H volunteer role. Leader training dates will be communicated during the new leader orientation. New leader training is FREE!!! Enrolling as a new leader is not contingent upon completing new leader training. However new leader training needs to be completed by June 1st of the current 4-H year.

To become a potential 4-H leader, you must first attend “New 4-H Leader Orientation” via Zoom. Contact Jennifer Leach for Leader Orientation to get that scheduled.

For additional information and/or questions about becoming a 4-H leader, please contact Jennifer Leach, WSU Extension Faculty 4-H Youth Development at 577-3014 EXT. 4 or e-mail at jleach@wsu.edu.
