After you’ve pulled, piled and successfully removed noxious weeds on your property, reward yourself and the birds, bees and butterflies with pollinator friendly, Bee-U-tify plants. Seed packets are available from the Mason County Noxious Weed Control Board, Building 4, at 303 N 4th Street in downtown Shelton. Each packet contains a mix of annual and perennial native and nonnative, but non-invasive, plants that will add a splash of color to the garden. The mix contains: lance-leaved coreopsis, purple coneflower, sunflower, perennial lupine, annual lupine, blanketflower, crimson clover, partridge pea, Mexican hat, cosmos sensation mix, lacy phacelia, plains coreopsis, butterfly milkweed, blue sage, poached egg meadow-foam, Rocky Mountain penstemon, lemon mint and bee balm.
